First off, the new site. The old blog was looking pretty old. It was pretty worn, kinda meh and in need of some serious help. Thus, the new blog was born! Basically, I spent about 4 hours building this guy partly because about halfway through, it all crashed. Not one of my greatest moments but it was still interesting to fix. Also, check out that sexy logo up top. I’ve got the artistic skills of a 4 year old yet with Photoshop, I can make a halfway decent logo. I love being a DIY Musician. Everything is free and I get all the time in the world to mess with stuff.

Also, today I started coding the Facebook plugin for our site. I spent a painstaking 10 hours on it (If you subtract the time it took me to cook bacon, it was more like 8).  I realized one thing today, I can’t program like I used to. Then again, I haven’t had to program anything in the past 4 years (Woo, go High School). Anyways, more about that will come but for now, its pretty big.

I’m laying in bed, tossing and turning because I’m psyched about the near future. I’m planning the next steps of Astrosplasher carefully. The first official Astrosplasher song is going to be released in the near future (maybe as early as Thursday or Friday). Basically, its going to be released in one of two ways. Option 1 is through the Ultimate Guitar Japan Earthquake Relief album. Its a project a few guys and I are working on. More details about that to come but expect to hear a lot about it. The other way is straight from the Astrosplasher site for free. But, heres the cool thing. Everytime its downloaded, I’ll donate 5 cents to the Red Cross for Japan Earthquake Relief (Up to a total of $500). So, you get a free song, I give 5 cents to help Japan, we make the world a better place. All you’ll need to download that is a facebook (which I’m pretty sure 99.9% of you looking at this already have). You’ll see more on everything soon but expect it to be huge.

I’m looking forward to the Astrosplasher album. Its finally taking shape and its sounding quite epic. Right now, theres not way to describe it. I don’t want to compare it to other bands and say it sounds like X because it never does. When its all done, you’ll know what it sounds like. I’m looking at an October release but the second I say that, it won’t happen. I’m playing with riffs and chicken scratch I’ve messed with for about 4 years. Its funny to see how something that started as “Guys, check this out, I can play something cool” is now turning into something that will eventually be released on an album. Though no guarantees on the release date, I hope to have it to you soon
